The Tetris 99 event bringing back old themes to the shop is still ongoing, but that isn't stopping Nintendo from rolling out the game's next online event.
The 56th (woah, that's a lot) Maximus Cup is on the way, this time being based on the recently released Splatoon Raiders, featuring music, sound effects, and visuals from the game. As with previous Maximus Cup events, the theme can be unlocked to keep by accumulating 100 points, with the number of points you earn from a match reflecting how well you did.
The event kicks off this Friday, August 7th at 12AM PT and runs through the weekend, ending on Monday, August 10th at 11:59 PT. Convert to your time zone appropriately.
Not much else to say, I just gotta make sure I don't forget to take part, or else it might be a few years before they run an event where I can get it again. All that to say, if this matters to you, set a reminder or something, don't let yourself forget!
